Hi, my name is Sharon and I have been productively working as a graphic designer in Seattle and San Jose for over 20 years, with extensive experience in logo design, branding, promotional media and infographics.
I love my job. Not many people can say that, but I’m always looking for ways to be creative, whether it be through my graphic design trade, interior designing, woodworking, or landscaping my yard.
I fell in love with the concept of graphic design when I discovered PowerPoint. Transforming a blank page on a screen into a powerful message was satisfying, which led me to enroll at the Art Institute of Seattle. After working in an advertising department for 3 years I branched out on my own to become a freelance designer so I could discover more creative outlets. This is when my passion for logo design began; another creative and powerful message.
I am meticulous and detail orientated and take great pride in the work I create. Client satisfaction is my number one priority so I work extremely hard to meet a client’s vision and goals.
I am proficient in:
Adobe Creative Suites: Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
I have knowledge and an understanding of HTML and CSS.
Client satisfaction is my number one priority. I feed off your passion, energy and vision.
REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE
I grew up in Northern England and immigrated to South Africa when I was 15 years old. Overnight my life changed from border collies herding sheep down country lanes to monkey’s literally swinging in the trees in our garden.
I lived through the changing times of apartheid with the freeing of Nelson Mandela in 1994. One of my favorite life experiences was chanting and dancing with Swazi natives beating their drums and shaking their noise-makers at the Coronation of the King of Swaziland.
With the hunger for more life experiences I packed my bags and backpacked through Europe, the United States and Mexico for 3 years, working summers on the Greek Island of Mykonos and fall and winter months in London, before finally settling in Seattle.
I feel very fortunate to be able to draw from my real-world experiences and the different cultures I have lived amongst to inspire unique ideas and creativity in my designs.
